I write about photography. My areas of focus are in care, grief and mothering from a *feminist perspective, and I think those can be found in most pictures if you look closely enough. I have a Substack called Widening the Lens and use that space for fast writing and there will be typos. Otherwise I can be terribly slow on longer pieces but always hit deadlines. I am available for commissions including artist book essays, exhibition statements, artist profiles and reviews. I want to see what you are working on.

*A feminist perspective centers acts of care and respect that improve conditions for everyone, focusing on our common ground and shared needs rather than scarcity. It approaches change with an awareness of transformation and possibility rather than loss. Applied to photography and image-making, feminist perspectives interrogate representation itself—questioning who controls the lens, whose experiences are centered, and how visual narratives can transform rather than perpetuate inequality
