Mentorship: The Read, $250 / A Limited Offer Fall to Winter 2026/27 (ONLINE)
The Year-End Read: A Close Look at Your Art, Images and Words
Close the year seeing your work clearly. I’ll spend real time with your work and your writing, and if your work lives online, I’ll take a look at how it’s presented there. Then I’ll send you a written assessment you can return to all year: what’s working, what isn’t landing yet, and three concrete next steps for 2027.
Ideal if you’re facing residency, grant or exhibition deadlines, preparing a new body of work, or simply want a thoughtful outside eye before the new year.
The Read, $250
Review of up to 20 images and your artist statement, bio or relevant written materials, plus a brief look at your website, social or online portfolio, if you have one. You will direct me to what you would like reviewed.
A 1 to 2 page written assessment with three next steps for 2027
One follow-up: send up to three questions within two weeks of receiving your review, and I’ll respond by email
How it works
Reserve your spot and complete a short intake form about your goals (a link will be provided at registation confirmation).
Send your materials as soon as you’re ready (a link will be provided). Rolling submissions are welcome, and earlier submissions receive earlier reviews.
Final deadline for materials: December 7. All written reviews delivered by December 21.
Who it’s for
Whether this is your first review or your fiftieth, it meets you where you are. If you’re new to this, I’ll keep the feedback clear and practical, and there’s no wrong way to send your work. If you’ve been showing for years, I’ll push on the harder questions: what’s next, what’s ready, and what’s holding the work back.
Open to visual artists in all media. My lens is photography and visual culture: I focus on ideas, images, sequencing, writing and how your work is presented, not on medium-specific technique. No website? No problem. The images and writing are the heart of this review.
